Put consonant blend skills to the test with Tug O’ Blend, a hands-on literacy game that combines reading, spelling, and a little friendly competition!

With 144 word cards featuring beginning blends, ending blends, and words with blends in both positions, Tug O’ Blend provides plenty of opportunities for reading and spelling practice.

In the traditional tug-of-war game, players take turns reading word cards. Correct responses earn moves toward their side of the board, based on the number of points shown on each card. The first player to pull the token all the way to their side wins!

For an additional challenge, try the reading-and-spelling variation, where one player reads a word and the other spells it. Additional game variations offer even more ways to practice.

Whether students are just beginning to work with consonant blends or need continued practice, Tug O’ Blend can be adapted to meet their needs.
